Difference between trailer and teaser

Trailer and teasers are both used to build a hype around the movie and to make it more intriguing for the target audience. However there are significant differences between a trailer or teaser.

Trailers are normally around 2 minutes with a variety of difference scenes and dialogue amongst a variety of different characters where as teasers are 1 minute long and show a short length of sneak previews in the teaser. While examining a teaser and trailer the trailer gives more detail on the narrative to the target audience about the storyline or gives the audience a clear understanding of the structure of the storyline where as the teaser doesn't relevantly need to, it just has to show short length sneak peaks of scenes to build a hype around the movie. The teaser still may give brief clues on the storyline and a teaser may still be just about longer than 1 minute but are definitely under 2 minutes. They may also have dialogue as well.

Cinematography
Teasers would use medium close ups or extreme close ups to show the emotions on a characters face while doing a quick shot of the character to create an atmosphere that could build up more of a hype around the movie. Trailers would also use medium closes up but they would use edits as well as such as shot reverse shot to show glimpse of dialogue between characters. Teasers use low shots as well to create this tension within the atmopshere such as the teaser for Hannibal Rising.
